Early January 2023, Artur and I started making handmade rugs! We’d seen a few videos on it and even have a close friend who’s been tufting for about a year.
After some research (watching about a dozen YouTube videos), we ordered a tufting gun, bought yarn and monks cloth from Jo-Ann Fabrics and made our first attempt.
We didn’t spend a lot of time planning or designing our 1st one, we just sort of went for it.
We have a friend who uses this emoji 😂 often in his messages to Artur and thought it’d be a fun gift to send to him.

Our 2nd rug was an avocado, inspired by our love for the food and our thinking that it would make a pretty nice rug.
The green yarn used for the inner part had a two-tone effect that changes depending on the lighting, so cool!

This rug was “surprise” gifted to our friend who’s a creative and signs her initials on all of her artwork.
It was my first attempt at lettering so no pressure, right? 😅

Another friend received this rug as she’s celebrating 5 years of running her firm.
At the time, this was the most complex as there was lettering and an emblem to tuft.
